Special Edition about upcoming 4-H opportunities!!! Mark Your Calendars.

The 4-H Make & Take sewing Workshop will be from 9:00-11:00 a.m., March 13, 2010, for youth in grades 5-12; 4-H’ers and non-4-H’ers welcome. Led by Nanette Watson and her sister, who are fantastic sew-ers and who attended the USU Extension Sewing Conference last fall. To learn the basics of sewing, each participant will make a locker caddy (I’m going to use mine as the hanger by the door that holds the items to leave with me, like mail). The locker caddy is a kit which means less cuttingJ

The cost of the class is $7.50 to cover the cost of the caddy kit .

You need to bring your own sewing machine and an adult who knows the machine needs to accompany the youth – no fee for the adult since they will be helping the youth.

Items to bring: Sewing Machine

Zipper foot

Extra machine needles

Scissors

Straight pins

Hand sewing needles

Space is limited to 20 youth so everyone gets attention.

Pre-registration required by Thursday March 11 at 5:00 pm to ensure enough kits are available.

Send an email to 4hsanpete@gmail.com or leave a message at 435.283.7583, with youth name and current grade, along with a phone number.

We are so fortunate to have 2 ladies who are so experienced willing to share their time and expertise! Thank you!

Also on March 13, starting at 8:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. are 4 science workshops for youth grades K-5 to rotate through and take home their science activities. The fee to cover costs is $1 for 4-Hers and $3 for non-4-Hers if pre-registered by Thursday, March 11 at 5:00 pm. The fee is $4 on Saturday for 4-Hers and non4-Hers, if not pre-registered.
